Wind through the Reeds
Artist statement - Gahyun Lee
In this performance, I am delighted to present a diverse and evocative program that spans a wide array of styles. The music of CPE Bach, Clara Schumann, Kalliwoda and Strauss evoke a rich tapestry of emotional depth, virtuosity, and lyrical beauty.Through these contrasting works, I aim to explore the diverse ways composers have used melody, rhythm, and harmony to express the complexities of human emotion and musical narrative.
CPE Bach | Solo Sonata in A minor, mvt.I
Clara Schumann | Three Romances, mvts. I & III
Franz Schubert | Transcriptions for Piano (Jeanell Carrigan)
Richard Strauss | Oboe Concerto in D Major, mvt.II
